Sewa International began its journey in Bharat amidst the chaos of the Latur earthquake in 1993.
The Sewa movement has since expanded globally and is now active in over 40+ countries. Sewa International NZ Inc. was established in New Zealand in 2024, primarily serving in Auckland and Christchurch.
We have been actively involved in various community initiatives, including tree planting, Park / street clean-ups, temple clean-ups in Auckland and Hamilton, free food for needy in Auckland CBD, Christchurch. Helping migrant Indian students with initial settling, and organizing Health & Fun activities with elders’ group in Auckland & Christchurch.
In another step towards contributing to our community, we plan to distribute non-perishable food for Diwali. We all know that not every family can fully celebrate this joyous occasion of Deepawali. This year's aim is simple: to bring light and a little happiness to their homes during this festive season. To achieve this, we need your support. You can help us through:
- Non-Perishable Food Items (vegetarian): To fill in our Deepawali food hampers.
- Volunteer Support: To help assist with sorting, packing, and distribution.
- Any other support you can offer.
Even by a small effort, great task can be accomplished. We can light a small lamp in the homes of families who might otherwise struggle to celebrate this Deepawali.
